Los Angeles Spotlight: Cici the Floss Boss Takes Center Stage

Last year, during a luxury group shoot event at a stunning mansion, I wasn’t sure who would be attending. As the day wound down, a familiar voice cut through the noise—and to my surprise, it was Cici. The moment we locked eyes, we both instantly agreed: we had to shoot together.

With time running out, we jumped into action. Cici slipped into a bikini and we made it happen. Despite the ticking clock, what followed was an unforgettable, high-energy bikini model photoshoot. Cici’s experience showed—she’s a veteran model with an incredible physique, confident energy, and a deep understanding of posing.

What really makes Cici stand out is her ability to bring a photographer’s vision to life. She’s quirky and fun but knows when to switch gears and get serious. Her creative input, quick adaptability, and natural presence in front of the camera made this one of the highlights of the event.

This last-minute shoot turned into a standout collaboration—proof that sometimes, the best moments are unplanned.

Camera Setup

  • Body: Canon 6D

  • Lens: Sigma 35mm f/1.4

  • Lighting: 36” Octabox with AlienBee B400 strobe

This shoot came with unique stylistic and technical challenges, primarily around how flash lighting would interact with ambient garage lighting and reflect off the car's surfaces. Balancing exposure between the model and the car was critical—especially with such reflective and inconsistent environmental lighting.

Shooting with cars is always a bit unpredictable. There’s a lot to manage with reflections, color shifts, and light falloff. In this case, the setup was done on the fly, which added some real-time pressure. I had to ensure the flash didn’t overpower the scene while still highlighting key elements of the composition.

Post-production played a huge role. The garage lighting cast strong yellow and green tints, so I selectively desaturated the yellows and color calibrated the overall tone. I also masked parts of the background to further neutralize those garage-induced hues. The technical part was one thing, but the real challenge here was color correction—it required patience and precise control.

The end result? A visually punchy, balanced image that made the most of a complicated environment.
